MYLIFE is an interactive, large-scale simulation populated by thousands of autonomous agents. Rather than following scripted narratives, each agent acts through interconnected rules governing memory, relationships, reproduction, conflict, and environmental response. Visitors can edit these rules in real time through a “Rule Book” interface, then observe settlements, family networks, population shifts, and social patterns emerge. Built in Unity with custom simulation systems, the work explores how individual behaviors and structural conditions accumulate into complex societies—and asks how much control we truly have over the worlds we create.
