The collection responds to industry's current conversation that "the future is in going local"–while confronting a drastic change I witnessed in my own local culture, fading at an alarming rate under the guise of "growth". Using the local flower's life cycle–once sacred, now a weed–as a metaphor for culture, pairing local traditions with future science to show how tradition and innovation must coexist for the future to be truly local.
