DYELIGHT: A Sustainable Dye Decision-Support Framework

This project explores sustainable dye systems through the comparison of natural, synthetic and bio-based colour pathways. Combining fieldwork, material experimentation and fastness testing, it develops a structured dye library and traffic-light evaluation framework to assess dye options beyond colour alone. The research translates environmental, technical and practical considerations into a designer-facing decision-support tool, enabling transparent comparison and supporting early-stage material selection.
